A Good Week!!!

Mike had a great week last week. He didn't have any temper problems that I know of at all. He was on task and cooperative. Praise the Lord!

Now, I am hoping the supplementation situation is finally getting clearer and that this will be the situation from here on out. But of course, in the past he has had bad-tempered episodes that seemed to have nothing to do with what he was eating. In fact they happened on days when he had hardly eaten anything. So we will see.

Comments:
FYI Phyllis-- Cumin is highly phenolic. Kids who have PST deficiency are reactive to phenols- berries, corn syrup/starch, chocolate, tomatoes, spices (*hint- herbs are green, spices are borown, yellow, orange, reds, etc- like cumin, cinnamon, ginger, clove, etc). Another relative to phenols is salicilates (apples/apple juice are #1 in this category- like that cran-grape juice- it's probably loaded with apple juice for a base?) To get an understanding of phenols, go to google.com, type in "Dana's View Phenols". Look at symptoms, then look at the main foods on the list. MANY kids with autism are intolerant of phenols/salicilates. Some fruits that are NOT full of phenols- mango, pear, papaya.

Hope this helps:)

P.s. have you looked at www.generationrescue.org to find other moms who can help? (look for "find a rescue angel") and www.autism.com

Thanks, Rainmom! I'll ask our applied kinesiologist chiropractor about phenolics.

I do have someone mentoring me whose kids are recovered using applied kinesiology, so I guess you can call her my recovery angel! She told me about www.generationrescue.org.
